Shamiso Chakaipa

Dental Prosthetist

Shamiso is a Senior Dental Prosthetist with Queensland Health. With over two decades of international and Australian experience in dental technology and prosthetics, he brings a deep clinical and academic perspective to patient care.

Shamiso moved to Australia from Zimbabwe in 2005, and continued to advance his academic credentials, including completing a master’s in dental technology (Prosthetics) from Griffith University in 2008.

Shamiso has worked extensively in both private and public sectors across New South Wales, Tasmania, and Queensland. His professional interests extend beyond clinical care to include rehabilitation counselling and disability studies, fields in which he holds postgraduate qualifications including Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling and Post Graduate Certificate in Disability certificate.

Shamiso is currently a PhD in Medical Studies candidate at the University of Tasmania, where his research explores the experiences of patients rehabilitated with complete dentures and how these experiences inform quality of life and service delivery. His work underpins a broader advocacy for holistic, patient-centred approaches in oral health care.
